The goal in The Pre- K classroom is to develop essential skills for a strong academic foundation in a secure, motivating and loving environment. We nurture each child’s individual developmental needs and their natural ability to learn, develop and grow.
Our Pre-K students gather for group discussions with a focus on their curriculum based theme of the week. They participate in learning centers, arts and crafts, physical activity and story time. We strive for our students to be enthusiastic readers, so our children receive their own library cards. They make bi-weekly visits to our library to check out a book, and they also keep a nightly reading log to encourage daily reading. Our Pre-K students also enjoy monthly curriculum themed field trips.
Our Pre-K students are fully engaged in the Handwriting Without Tears® and Zoo Phonics® programs. Each week our children participate in multiple enrichment classes. These classes take place outside of our classroom in a designated area, and include: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematic activities. Mr. Music © and his group of talented musicians also come once a week for a specially tailored music class.
